Mmmm You may have changed my mind. As long as it sits comfortably under 350fps with 0.2's that's fine. Not sure what 'over hopped' and setting the hop means (newbie to airsoft). God, I should go to bed soon lol

Just seen a video on youtube of the g&g raider and it had a nice tight grouping on a target, but his fps was around 375 on avg, which is why i asked before getting all excited about deciding on getting it..

sorry to go into basics, but its easier ... hop re-fairs to the method bb guns use for bb's to "over come gravity", giving a far extended range. The method basically is by applying back spin to the bb's (there is a technically name etc, but its wayy too late/early in the morning)

the end result is too little hop, the bb falls short, too much and it heads for the sky ..... there is a fine line, yet if you "over hop" you gun, as the bb travels out of the barrel, and after a distance, the bb kinda jumps up alittle, giving say 10% (made up figure) extra distance, (at the cost of a few FPS) before falling. i kinda sounds all made up, but trust me this which craft works lol

Oooooohhh i understand now! So thats what the hop up does as the bb is fired, adds back spin.

Well, time to research upgrades for this gun then!

all i have done to mine is add RIS armour, a grip pod, and a ACOG tyle sight with 20mm riser ..... oooh and a sling

Yeah, i'll wait till i have it before i jump to conclusion on what to buy. Most likely buy a foregrip as i prefer the more tactical feel.

Sp00n where abouts do you get your spare mags from? Will the Aps 300rnd ones from zero one airsoft be ok?

they should do, as they look to be a stanag mag, but i would need to see one to be 100% sure.

i have 2 G&G hi caps (one came with my gun, i bought the other from zero one) the other 6 are JP hi caps (i bought 3 off them off ebay for £30 iirc)

Yeah, found the G&G one on Zero one so i'll get one off there. Not too sure if i'll need any more yet, depends how trigger happy i get. lol.

Now to find some cheap pouches etc to wear!

I only ever use a max off 4 (as my vest only has 3 rifle mag pouches) but if you are going to war, bring lots of ammo
But for most instances 1 or 2 is enough with hi caps, if your doing short games. If your doing an all day game, then 3 or 4 with a bb bag

I use a usmc style cross draw vest with a dump pouch, it's cheap and works for me

Ah ok i'll take 2 mags, one in the gun, one spare, but also take a bag of bb's a refill mid game if I need to, if I do then that will tell me I obviously need another one.

Where's a good place to get clothing? Want to get a vest, gloves, and head stuff preferably all from the same place...
