Hi there i have a m4 body lying around and i would like to convert it into a DMR, i was wondering what gearbox, hop up and motor i should get. Also the springs and piston upgrades.

The body is a CM16 Raider which has a different stock and it also has a 650mm, 6.03 tight bore barrel, if that helps.

Im looking to spend around £100 + or - 25 or so. I am willing to go above this, but this is what i would want to realistically spend.
Do not mind second hand parts.

Links to products would be much Appreciated

To spend as little as possible, you need to to a lot of modding on the gearbox to make it a proper DMR.

Probably the best guide I know of for DMR building:

http://www.airsoftsniperforum.com/43-longrange-aegs/892-holy-grail-building-your-dmr-aeg.html

For a gearbox, any one will do really,Lonex ones are pretty good drop ins,but you still need to do all those mods to get it to perform like a DMR.

For hop,a ProWin unit with a PDi W hold or Laylax nineball or maple leaf bucking seem like a popular choice if not doing R-hop.

Barrels,PDi Raven. Affordable and very good performing, better than LayLax I'd say.

Motor, jam in an SHS high torque. Best for trigger response in my experiences.

And if going a proper DMR route, prepare to spend far more than 125£.

It's a big challenge and a big moneysink.

Could you link me to some of these items?

Mainly the gearbox and hop up.

Do you still have the stock G&G gearbox? I'd say use that as a starting point.

I'd say it's better to just make a good performing AEG. Making a DMR is really hard, especially with Version 2 gearbox guns.

Here's the Lonex drop in(Re branded under ASG)

And the hop unit:

Motor:

Would most Gearboxes do? That one seems abit expensive?

Would it be better to buy a whole new gun? Like The G&G SR25?

I also have a GHK GBBR conversion kit which fits nicely into the chassis. But i have no idea if the hop up is any good. And i dont know what it would perform like.

Would this be viable, i have looked everywhere for different hop up units for the GHK GBBR kit, but i cannot find any but the stock one.

GHK GBBR kit, from what I've read is pretty bad, performance and reliability are not good at all.

For your current gun,G&P drop ins are very reliable and good quality, better than G&G combat Machine ones. Coupled with a ProWin unit, stock G&G green bucking and a good quality tightbore it'll be a nice performer.

Would this need any upgrading? like the piston and spring?

It will depend on what FPS you are looking to achieve. The best bet would be to put it together with the standard components, then chrono it to see what FPS it is doing. From that you can decide whether you need to change the spring, piston, motor, etc. based on those numbers and the limits imposed by the sites you play at.

It depends what you mean by DMR. If you just mean a good AEG, or one locked off to semi-auto with 10-20 FPS more than your local site limit for AEG's, then yeah, buying an SR-25 might be a good idea if you can get one for a good price, but since you have a receiver, you could drop a pre-assembled GB in without costing a fortune. TBH, for £125 you're going to struggle to turn a receiver into a full length M16 (unless you have the fore end already?).

If by DMR you mean an AEG which can hold its own against snipers, I would suggest you do buy and install your own gearbox upgrade parts, because you need to be aiming to produce not just high FPS with very fast trigger response, but consistency too. Right now I really cba to search links, but we were having a similar discussion a while back here. I put some links in there. Basically SHS/Super Shooter steel components are the best you can get for sensible money, better than many more expensive items (which I say with confidence having been able to compare SHS gears to Systema, Prometheus, ICS, Tokyo Marui, CYMA, and SRC - they are better than all but ICS), so go with SHS for everything except the piston head. Get a Matrix Double O-Ring aluminium piston head with Bearings and hurry up if you want it at that price cos they bloke only has 1 left.

You have any experience with this gun? All the reviews are very mixed, some say its inaccurate and some say its accurate.
Try and find out what bb's each review uses. I'm pretty sure the gun is accurate with .28s and above as .20s are just way to light of a bb to be any accurate in such a powerful weapon.
