I've added a long wire loom so I can run the AEG with a lipo in the stock tube, and whilst it works OK on full auto, it suffers gear box lock up on semi. 

Would the changing of the connectors to deans and the addition of a Mosfet, either plug n play or hardwired, help alleviate this issue? 

If so, Mosfet recommendations please!

TM and No. Other than additional wire loom, its stock.

I can't recommend a specific mosfet, but you want one with "Active breaking" - that will stop your lockup issue.

A NanoAAB will work if you can fit it, will need hard wiring.
