Mancraft system fully fitted and operational

Thanks for the info chaps, much appreciated. This may finally get me the bolt action sniper I've always wanted, I've liked the idea of externally powered on paper but don't want the remote tank.

I like the route ronin667 has taken with the stock pouch. I assume it all fits in there?

I belive the fps with the bolt is "supposed" to be steady as the air or Co2 does not enter the system direct from the bulb or tank. The charge, as it were, is stored in a in line reservoir, so exactly the right amount of air/Co2 is used in every shot. It's a simple yet clever design, but I can't see how that feature alone is worth the extra hassle and double the cost.

I mean, that's what a decent regulator is for so er...

I believe the chief benefit to their system is the same reason you'd buy an electric solenoid HPA engine over pneumatic systems like Escort, Daytona Gun or the PDiK. Other than RoF, the only difference really in performance is that the electric solenoids are more air efficient because you have so much more control over that airflow and don't need to over-volumise a barrel if you don't have to. Plus being able to release the air exactly how you want it (and not all at once) means it can be a lot more economical.

I'd expect to see 120+ shots from the Bolt, and I know some of their early announcements have basically confirmed that.

Though for me that's a moot point because the reason I went for Daytona Gun over anything Wolverine, Polarstar or Protech is the same reason I'm probably not going to switch from the SDiK to the Bolt: Because I wanted it to be fully mechanical so that it's fully waterproof, I can't break it beyond repair and so that I don't have to rely on a battery not dying.

Tried it out at 90m today. Its firing straight and true with a torso size target being hit 8 out of every 10 shots. I'm convinced the AirsoftPro hop unit helps with this, and has the bonus of eliminating the dreaded left / right curve

There was a Q&A a few months ago on one of the Facebook groups, I asked the Wolverine chap about input pressure. He told me that to achieve 500fps he was running it ona whopping 120-140psi. The system "can" joule creep massively and he mentioned the term "But joule creep should always be used", at that point I left the conversation...

I use the mancraft sdik with a redline SFR reg and a 13ci tank. I can achieve 330fps on a .45 which also gives 489fps with a .2 (So no joule creep) thats at 80-85psi. My range is 65 meters fairly flat but VERY consistent. With a .4 I can get about 70 meters but I prefer the slightly heavier BB's. Anyways... Point I'm trying to make is that it pi**es me right off when people (Wolverine) brag about their crazy long range builds that are effectively cheating! I had my ass handed to me here when I mentioned my original 100 meter gspec. Something which I've always tried to best through a good build.

Well that sucks. The CO2 efficiency is a huge positive if they can pull it off though. Fitting a battery and that Wraith thing into the stock though? Gunna be tough.

Me?? I'm running a Laylax 430mm 6.03 barrel.
No idea how they can get it that efficient if it's blowing out at 120+ psi per shot!

I'm pretty sure the wraith is made to fit inside the VSR stock. I think co2 users are hoping it'll be a fairly easy mod to run the sdik with a wraith.

Ah, makes sense. Tighter bore. I'm on a 6.13 so I get Joule creep quite a bit, but obviously it's not a huge issue.

Like you say, it'll be interesting to see if they achieve that kind of efficiency with CO2. If they can't properly mitigate creep with that solenoid system then it's still over-volumising like the SDiK does so we won't see a huge jump in efficiency at all.

it is due to high pressure, low volume and by utilising the reservoir that the bolt has it means although you are running a high psi you are not ditching that pressure each shot, probs only half so effectively only using 60-80psi per shot, just having it start at a higher pressure and not drop to ambient. Means if you run a long barrel or a tight bore barrel you can match the volumes.

Nicely explained! I wish Wolverine had told me it this way.

Like I said though, they were very "JC friendly" which worries me as I could quite easily put together a 100meter gun that JC'd like crazy for way under £150. I know most people don't really care but I like the challenge of seeing what I can do within the boundary. My Tanaka on the other hand is a beast if setup for 500 on a .2

Interesting! It was Rich I was talking too on FB. Strange how now, the focus is all on Volume matching! Anyways, I'll certainly take a look when it's out. If it's better than the Mancraft kit then I'll give it ago, I'm not one for Co2 tbh but even on HPA it should be very good!

One thing I'd just ask though, Surely the volume matching ability can easily be used to build a heavy JC rifle (Just like you can with any HPA drop in by adjusting the dwell). From the conversation I had, It's almost "Taunting" you onto doing it that way?
