Macks airsoft dreamers of the week thread

This is the ad, it did make me chuckle, especially the last bit.

i suppose I’m giving him what he wants now. Although it’s here cos he mentioned it not cos it’s overpriced etc

Heres my A&K Winchester 1892.

These normally have more leaks than the Mccanns alibis.
This does not. Its seals are tighter than the locks on Joseph Fritzls basement.

I've also refinished the metalwork, though not the actual mechanism, and taken the stock orange varnish off. The same shade Katie price is currently using I believe. I've gone over it with the finest wood oil that I could find in the back of the garage. Given the stock a few knocks, been beaten up more than Jonny Depp.

Its does actually shoot quite well if you use it like a martini Henry, and live out your Zulu war fantasies.
In reality this probably means it's good for shooting the opposition if they're armed with nought but a pointy stick. And then you'll lose the second game.

It'll look good on the wall of your mancave, which is the middle class word for mastabatorium. Or even pride of place in the living room, take the pictures of the kids down, what have they ever done for you, right?

I'm open to offers, if it doesnt go it'll just sit on the project pile, though I'm going to use it as a single shot breech loader if I still have it next weekends western game.

Swaps for revolvers are a possibility.

Please have a defence. Shooting the neighbour's cats, no matter how many times they shit on the lawn is frowned upon and not a defence apparently.
BlOoDy UkArA pOlIcE.

First to see may not buy. £100. Cheaper than a denix at that, can talk offers from there.

Collection preferred.

Oh, and just incase. Hello Mack's.

Not if u add it all up it’s not if ur interested then make a offer also I’m not a dreamer I’m asking the price that I believe it’s worth for the price I paid to put it all together.

He very clearly is, even if not associated with a retailer.

This is my favourite:

A second hand WE subcompact and some extra mags for £190 plus postage...bargain!

“A second hand WE subcompact”

But the magic touch makes it new again. Like most of the guns listed on his profile. ?

@Daver - This thread exists to generate awareness within the AF-UK community regarding the price attached to certain adverts. On the whole AF-UK tends to have a lot of banter and at times it can have a very dry sense of humour, however, if an advert ends up in this thread usually it is warranted and how you choose to respond is up to you. At the moment your initial response was fairly reasonable, if somewhat final, which is perfectly fine but the follow up is typical of many responses we see from those who are either new to the forum or who take offence at the mere mention of the name here.

A significant number of people who are mentioned in this thread fail to engage with it and that is entirely up to them. The two other types of people who tend to respond typically respond in one of two ways. The first way is to become defensive and, usually, abusive to some degree. The second type will either qualify their asking price (which you're by no means required to do) and/or seek feedback as to why their advert ended up being highlighted.

One thing to bear in mind is that Hitman was not offensive towards you nor did he direct any criticism towards you beyond viewing your advert as "a little on the high side" which is perfectly understandable when you consider the asking price. This isn't to say that the asking price isn't justified, especially taking into consideration the Plano case costing around £140 by itself in the UK, but bear in mind that the general rule for airsoft guns and accessories tends to be 60% - 70% of retail, typically based on cheapest reputable retailer. Availability being the obvious caveat as a further consideration point.

Finally, I'd recommend removing the batteries from the bundle and making them an optional extra. I'd also suggest doing the same for the optic and pouch. You may also want to fill in some details such as the manufacturer and model of the scope along with the manufacturer of the pouch.

At last a normal response...if this was said in the 1st place my response would of different...and that’s all it needed, not to be tagged into a group called a dreamer...I did ask for a offer to be made....but telling me to be careful is not the response I was after hence my second response ....as for the rest of your post I appreciate what was said and thank you for your suggestions??

solid advice there

the mistake you're making is trying to sell everything as a single package.

you're selling a vector, meaning your prospective buyer is probably going to be more interested in it as a cqb gun, therefore a magnified optic like that is worthless to them.

same applies for the drum mag, some folk just dont like marracca's hanging off their gun so for those people a drum is just going to be something that's either not going to get used or is hassle for them to sell on.

as freefrag correctly points out if a manufacturer isn't specified and it can't be easily identified from the photos then people reasonably have to assume the worst when estimating value.

for example if i were in the market for a vector and saw that ad what i'd see is a gun, some midcaps, couple of batteries in unknown condition and a bunch of stuff that will either need to be sold on again or end up permanent residents in various boxes of random airsoft bits.

now you could strike lucky and find someone who just happens to want, whilst simultaneously not currently having, exactly the combination of bits your selling. but that's really narrowing your market.

Thanks for the advice and if I can ask your advice....the vector with just the 7 mags one battery and the case what would u say is a fair price...or would u sell the case separate

Battery essentially worthless secondhand, they’re so cheap new.

two, three mag packs are £120

case is £150

gun is £450

so £720 new

65% is about £470, but personally I’d sell the case on its own

“personally I’d sell the case on its own”
That’s debatable depending on if you have the original box or not. If you don’t have the original box I would sell with case. But that’s personal preference too. It’s up to you @Daver ??

I do have the box still but I think the inserts are missing...after speaking to guys it’s swaying me to split down as suggested??

Omg, I can’t unsee this. A two tone TM Devgru! A new chap that’s just joined here and now selling it for 650gbp!! I mean OMG. At least it’s not bright green! But still...

there's a lesson here for new players:

normally the airsoft community doesn't bat an eyelid at a 2-tones gun because we're all well aware of the issues a newer player faces and the excitement at wanting to get new kit. it's a necessary evil and we accept that.

however, you 2-tone something nice and prepare to be a pariah......
