Strong look, Dragon Supplies? When I was in,  I once wore to a multi-unit event a set of identical combats combined with a threadbare windproof smock that was so old it was almost white. I looked awesome, but it turned out that this view was not universally held but the senior echelons of pretty much every other unit in attendance!

Yes dragons finest neon trops ?? really should have grabbed them a few years back when they sold them off at £3 a piece not at the ‘slightly’ inflated current price.

I can only imagine their jealousy ?

You've got me beat, couple of weeks back Luke did my CA M15 that's a mere, spritely 18 years old; comparatively a spring chicken.  The Spectre on top of the FAMAS here is a first to my eyes, guessing it sits quite high but pretty cool still haha.

Yeah,  I just took my optics from my HK and put them on the Famas, and you're absolutely right, it is too high and I had to compensate for it. I'm looking at a Chinese ACOG clone to use instead.

 
I'm currently away for work so I can't check exactly, but I'd guess the distance between the base of the mount and the centre of the optic glass is pretty similar between a Spectre and a typical 4x ACOG, if not right about the same.  If you want a magnified optic on there I'd probably look at something other than an ACOG; magnifier and red dot combo would have the potential to sit a lot lower to the top of the big ol' outrigger thingy that the sights sit on.
