Image upload problems

I started noticing a couple of weeks ago more and more images just appearing as black squares , now having the same problem myself , they upload from the camera roll but just don’t load anything . I have plenty of storage / upload space , have tried resizing etc . 
 

has there been an update on the forum software ? Or does it need one ? 
 

for reference , I’m using an iPhone and up until a couple days ago have never had any problems at all other than the odd file being too big .

I recently changed my iPhone camera settings

Changed from HEIF to JPEG which is “most compatible “ also smaller storage required

not noticed any lost resolution 

maybe worth a shot ??‍
