I'm planning on shortening my inner barrel will it cause problems?

Depends on how you do it.

If you turn it down. Mill / Lathe etc and then put a crown on it. Will be fine.

If you use a hacksaw you may run into problems. Although still possible.

Also how far you cutting it? Piston sizes may need to be changed if you're cutting down to like 100m etc

I am only cutting it down because 500mm is way to big im going to make it roughly 350mm

Oh and i will be cutting it down with a pipe cutter and using drills etc to give it a clean finish and cleaning after

Providing you can cut it cleanly without bending it, you'll be fine.

make sure there are no 'burrs' on the inner edge and it will be OK

Pipe cutters tend to narrow the end as they cut inwards and turn the edge over.

Just a thought but why don't you buy the correct size barrel and keep the longer one incase you want to change it back?

because i won't be buying another when i had to have it shipped from USA

also i have done the shortening now and it has come out really nice even tested the gun

Would you mind telling us what the gun is; the original barrel diameter & length; are there vents in the cylinder (if so, what type); what spring you are using; have you made any other changes (if so, what else); what was the FPS with the old barrel; what is the FPS now; what range were/are you getting; how is the accuracy?

Oh yeah, and what brand of pipe cutter did you use?
