I'm after a specific rifle due to requirements

I did quickly look into it... I'm not sure how it will be seen, but it would be fun! Just laying down cover/surpressive fire from a distance.
I have an A&K M249 para, it certainly attracts some sideways glances and many will tell you that an M4 with a high cap is just as good at suppression BUT the 2500 round magazine and just the pure intimidation factor of a support gun is worth the effort! Most people are fine with it as long as you're not holding the loud button down for ages.

What about the mammoth 450fps? And I see regarding the M4 being as effective. But if I remember correctly, half the enjoyment of this stuff is how you feel and play out the games. And I'm sure, lugging up a hill to deploy a huge M60 and just rain down hail would be a wonderful feeling.

450FPS is bolt action sniper rifle territory. I did see someone mention somewhere that there are some sites that allow support guns to run higher FPS than a standard AEG but I don't know of any myself.

It was an American that claimed a lower 350fps haha

I think that my next best option is to go to a retailer, walk in and have a chat.

Sounds like a plan! Where are you based? Socom Tactical over in Fleet are pretty good assuming Laurence isn't on his own and run off his feet!

Waltham St Lawrence, between Reading and Maidenhead just off the A4.

Thanks for the help today mate.

Yes it is! Apart from the lugging around bit lol! I have a Star M60E4 and its great fun (as in my username pic), its not especially heavy but it is awkward to carry around, even with a sling, due to the box mag sticking out one side and cocking handle the other, but none of that matters when the opposition see you walk past, on the way to dig in ready to hose them down! That said I don't use it half as much as I really should. And it has the original plastic gearbox shell still (which I trust more than their cast metal ones)!

Most Support Weapons (not all) have a quick change spring facility so you can easily tailor it to suit the site being played. Box mags can on occasion be troublesome though, had loads of bother with mine until I rewired it.
