Just a stupid thought I had tonight...

With adjustable springs in AEG's, would a spacer/washer on the spring guide be as efficient as changing the spring?

Assume the AEG is hopped correctly, standard hop & bushing, decent inner barrel etc

Think I was considering putting spacers in my GBBR buffer tube as Ollie suggested, and this AEG idea popped into my noggin.

My old star m249 had a similar principle in that you could push the plate at the rear of the spring in to a number of detents, with each one putting a bit more pressure on the spring, & hopefully upping fps.
But I never used them, plastic gearbox & couldn't see the point of risking it going pop, performance was more than adequate.

Yep - helps if you have a quick change guide. I've got a GBLS and most of us are shimming springs to get a consistent FPS between two spring weights.
