Hi all.

I’m looking to slowly upgrade my HK416 A5 aeg (Umarex) and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good bucking and nub combo and also a barrel upgrade?

Running 0.32gs BBs mostly in woodland skirmishes.

Was considering a Maple Leaf MR 50deg with
a Maple Leaf Solid edition Omega nub???

No idea about what barrel upgrade so any advice would be very welcomez

Thanks

All depends on a number of different factors.

Maple Leafs can be picky based on the inner barrel and hop unit pairing due to their long lips. The bottom lip can be shaved down slightly to get around this but its not 100% ideal, however don't let that put you off.

Would recommend a 60 degree normally for a 1.13j aeg.

If it doesn't fit then try a different hop bucking. They are fairly cheap

The Maple leaf MR buckings are apparently a little more forgiving than the macaron buckings. And the traditional rubber versions (at least for AEG use) seem better regarded than the silicone versions.

The contact patch is rather wide though, and can be a difficult fit in some standard barrels due to the width of the window - this can be carefully enlarged quite easily (at least on a brass barrel) with a small file. Or you could use an aftermarket barrel by maple leaf or our very own AK2M4 which will have a big enough window already.

Obviously the maple leaf omega nub is a good pairing, but there are plenty of other omega shaped nubs these days that are just as good, and are a little cheaper. AK2M$ sells a combo for £9.

The G&G green bucking is a more traditional bucking that works acceptably well in a wider ranges of barrels and hop units - still an upgrade on most stock buckings, but is unlikely to provide quite as good performance as a well functioning maple leaf, and may struggle to lift your .32s in every hop/nub combo.
