Hi everyone,

I am new on here, I have a few mates who are into airsofting and I am looking at perhaps getting into it and joining them in a few matches etc.

I have a few air rifles as well as an 8" Dan Wesson .177 CO2 revolver which I use for some plinking in the garden and just generally a bit of fun, I used to be a fairly high rank NCO in the air cadets so was used to live fire, but air rifles and airsofting is all I can legally do now!

The only decent airsoft weapon I have is a fully upgraded Mac 11, the issue being is that I have around 2 seconds of ammo before all 50 rounds aren't in the magazine anymore!

I am thinking about getting a rifle or some sort - prefer long range sniper rifles and might get myself a ghillie suit at some point if I decide to do a few matches etc and then have the Mac 11 as a backup lol

Anyhow, just wanted to say hi to everyone, im going to be looking into where I can play matches and then look into rifles and pistols that I might get myself - I might end up borrowing something from my mate to get into it first though.

As Devastator said, think carefully about a sniper because you wont see alot of action and your going to have to spend about the same amount of money you spent buying the rifle on upgrades.

Yeah as soon as I thought about that and read a few of the newbie guides I feel its maybe something I might want to do at some point but not as a starting gun, I am thinking about maybe an M14 with a decent scope so that I can get accurate shots when I want to, but also be able to go in and be useful when there is need for a more supportive role.

I guess I am looking for something that allows a switch between fully auto/burst fire but also semi automatic, I will be looking for something like a semi sniper rifle I guess, would an M14 fit the bill? I don't really want to get an M16 as I would be after something more 'rifle' like rather than something compact (like a P90)
