Get started with eyepro, ankle support boots and your own RIF. From there tailor what you buy to how you play. If you like an item another player is using ask them about it. Most airsofters won't shut up about what they use if you give them the opportunity and some will even let you use it if you ask nicely which is a good way to try before you buy!
Not sure what your budget is but if it’s not loads I’d steer clear of a pistol for a while especially if you play woodland you will hardly use it. I made that mistake and 2 years later I’ve only used it a handful of times I’d always recommend putting the money into a primary.
