Best 'military' TV series ever? Great quotes, action and events firmly based on eyewitness accounts (and very close to how it was written in the book), lots of USMC gear porn and realistic action scenes.

Had the boxset years ago, not sure where it is. I remember loving it. May have a look for it at the weekend :)  Thanks for reminding me

 
It's good.....but is it "Band of Brothers" good?

Depends what you want from a TV show I guess. Interesting to note that there are 3 or 4 actual marines acting in Gen Kill. Rudy Reyes for one. If you watch the DVD boxset there's a whole load of interviews with the actors/soldiers in the show.

 
Strike back though is quality, well the later series before the end :)

struggle to watch much TV with kids these days, usually its peppa pig or power rangers  :angry:

Ultimate Farce was always good for a laugh.

Band of Brothers was great, but I'm going to whisper it...The Pacific was better.

 
Any of you guys watch Bluestone 42? Mainly a comedy but wasn't afraid to get heavy when it needed to be.

Anyone watch the SIX series on History recently? - a bit cheesy - but good for gear porn! ;-)

 
Generation Kill was brilliant, in fact I'm going to start watching again after seeing this thread.

One series i particularly enjoyed, was The Unit. Perhaps more far fetched than your BoB and GK, but very watchable
