Has anyone put tracer LEDs in a grenade launcher tube?

I'm planning to try this soon. If it works it'll be like shooting fireworks of green piss at everyone.

My only thought is that there's so many BBs propelled out at such high velocity that they don't get fully illuminated, but my solution to that is just to add more LEDs down the tube.

What a stupid, pointless idea.

Of course, I love it.

Airtac UK has been working on a shotgun tracer, so it's not that outré. https://www.airtac.me/product-page/shotgun-tracer

Caveat, when I've done hop-up tracer units, they've always been rather disappointing, even when I've bought the most lumeny "UV" LEDs that eBay can provide (for pennies each).  I'm not sure what you'd have to do to ensure that you get ones that are really UV and bright enough to charge up BBs in a fraction of a second.

Iirc there are 3d print adapters for a 40-mike, bit easier than a shower shell with everything proceeding in an orderly fashion

To adapt the 40mike to what exactly?

I'm planning to do this in a Matrix EGLM tube along the inside of the tube, using it with 40mikes and master mikes. Going to wire it up to the trigger on the GL too, you'll have to hold it down until all BBs have exited the tunnel in an orderly fashion however to keep it lit.

take a tracer unit

i cannot speak to its effectiveness, only its existence.
Well damn, it adapts to this then? https://pcutracer.com/product/pcu-micro-tracer-unit-gen-3-front-cap/ there must be more parts to it but I can't look hard right now, but damn, that's basically the end result if it does work. Although, I have 4 grenades, at £17 a grenade for the adapter alone, it'd be way easier to put it in the tube. Plus, you're gonna have the adapters and the tracer bit sticking out of every grenade in your pouches too etc.

Yeah, my idea is better still.

I've got a MAXX Hop in my SCARH with the tracer unit installed (and a spare set of the tracer leds for it which is what prompted the idea), this is how it looks:

yeah, only thing to account for with using the tube is the offset in the "barrel" for the 40-mike.

but if you made it wide enough and robust (eg a clear plastic tube to protect the led's) you might be able to use centre-fill shower shells with it as well.

I was going to use a thin clear PVC tube and stick the leds dotted from about an inch from the exit of the grenade to the end of the tube, you know like a line of them, but also up/down/left/right etc in the tube. I can feed the wires (they're super thin.) through a hole I can drill in it and feed them through the small opening between the upper/lower receiver, hook it up to the battery, and then have the trigger in the GL just a simple switch with the positive wire.
