WD-40
An everyday household item maybe? I think so.
Good to get rid of the squeaks out of a door hinge? Maybe it's only purpose.
Maybe you can use it on your bike; clean those rusty axles you silly boy.
Maybe you can use it on your firearms if you want some flammable petroleum on your gun which can be easily ignited.
So I had a conversation with my friend just the other day (don't ask which other day) on the amazing world of facebook. We talked about skirmishing sites and my sh*tty AK, then we talked about gun maintenance which was a bother.
I said I use good silicon grease to clean my gun internals (gearbox etc.) and he said he used WD-40 to clean his hop up units.
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
WD-40
Then I thought in my head:
"WHAT THE FUDGING HELL????!!! ARE YOU FOR ****ING REAL?"
WD-40 IS NOT A ****ING LUBRICANT. WD-40 IS ONLY GOOD FOR DOOR HINGES AND NOTHING ELSE. (in my opinion)
Then I replied to him, "God damn it man! It's not a ***ING LUBRICANT!" Then closely followed by, "WD-40 WILL ****ING DRY OUT OUT YOUR HOP UP AND CAUSE IT TO DEFECT, JUST BECAUSE IT MAY BE A LIQUID AT FIRST DOESN'T MEAN IT'S A LUBRICANT"
I was pissed off just by that sentence he said and the monumentally amount of stupid people who think WD-40 is a lubricant.
WD-40 is not a lubricant.
WD-40 is a solvent.
WD-40 is not as viscous as proper silicon grease.
I've said this a BAJILLION times already to people who think WD-40 is a lubricant.
IT IS NOT A LUBRICANT
He used it on his SRC dragon m4 and TM glock 17. He even said he's been using WD-40 ever since he got the guns which were christmas presents.... from 2011 and the glock from further back. Fantastic bits of kit only to ruined by the oh so amazing WD-40.
EVEN WIKIPEDIA CALLS IT A LUBRICANT (what dumb idiots of wiki)

Some people I have met even define a liquid as a form of lubricant. I can tell you that a liquid =/= lubricant.
And by that definition, molten lava can be used as a lubricant for when you and your wife have some fun. Yeah, have fun with that, it may provide the tiniest bit of help I don't think your man parts would last much longer.
Yeah, i've gone in a rant long enough and you may not have found this amusing but it's just a reminder to newbies and other people that

And what do those things have in common eh? Come on, it's not rocket science.
They are not made of plastic or rubber.
(unless you have a sh*tty plastic kiddies tricycle you salvaged from your sad and lonely childhood)
