Hi Everyone!

I recently got a flip to side magnifier and i was wondering if any of you knew if i could get a protector for the front of it?

I was preferably looking for something that would sit over the end of it, but if people have other ideas/DIY methods i'm all ears! I'd rather not have it smashed after my first game!

Any help would be great :)

Cheers!

Oh yeah, that's a point.. lol

What you need is a side rail to which that protector could be attached perhaps?

Something like this I was thinking? Would the lens protector not attach to the side rail perhaps so when you flip the magnifier you can flip the protector up so-to-speak?

Or buy a lexan disc that's the diameter of the flip to side and DIY in place that way you don't need another rail, failing that cut some mesh much like most kill flashes and some heat shrink that's the right size and heat shrink the honeycomb mesh onto the front of it.

or Spoon feeding link

Cheers for the help guys. I was hoping to get something that actually fitted to the end of the scope instead of having something in front of it (like a normal protector). Was just curious to know if there was one on the market that did this.

I might try @clumpyedge's suggestion and see how i get on.

Cheers again everyone!

Get some calipers (cheap on ebay) if you measure the circumference you may get lucky and find one that will already fit without much DIY

I keep mine in a  drawer at home, its well protected there :D   bastard thing wont line up with any of my scopes, the joys of buying cheap. Realised it wouldn't be much use to me anyhow but mine did come with a slip over rubber protector if I remember correctly though.

But I think the poly carbonate is really the only way, that or blind faith it will last, i mean it could get 1 unlucky hit on the first game or could last years!!

Your best bet is Ant-supplies. They have a full range of clear protectors and killflashes. Remember scopes have different sized tubes and elements, so the threads are not universal across all models, You will have to measure yours to get one that fits.

Don't trust the plastic that comes with those protectors tho. There only for shooting with, not for been shot at. To make them game ready you need to change the plastic lenses.

I've cut discs from safety specs for most of mine. You can cut the discs at a near size with a hole saw without the centre drill. Then do the final fit by sanding down the edges.

It's a bit of a pain, but once done you have eyepro levels of safety for the glass.

I also remove the springs so they don't pop up in game.

or if you have a set of calipers as mentioned above you can buy the right sized disc at any thickness you like ;)

Thanks for the info - i'll look into Ant-Supplies.

Looks like they're closed until March though, so i'm probably going to try cutting my own out in the meantime.

I'll update you all on the final outcome (if you're at all interested ?)
