Ok, so, im looking for an m4 front handguard with rails that will allow me to store a battery. Does such a beast exist? Or will i have to go with a crane stock. Oh, and i abhor PEQ/battery boxes.

I would prefer if the top rail is flush with the top rail on the receiver, but its not essential.

You could get a ris kit but they can be expensive

A PEQ box would be the simplist way TBH

Look for an 'M4 s-system'

full length top rail about a foot long

has battery in the front without a PEQ box.

S-System front kits can be bought overseas but iirc need some modding to get them flush.

I'm new to this, so no expert, but if you like the look you could go for a Magpul MOE handguard? I just picked one up from Hong Kong (ebay) for £10 that came with a triple rail set. It's great!

I'm not certain but i think you could probably mount a top rail on it also.
