Flat nub without cutting/sanding the bucking

It would be applying far too much hop even without any hop set on the lever or wheel. You'll be lucky for a BB to even to fire without getting blocked in the hop chamber.

as asmodai said the flat nub is set up to compensate for the removed material, it might work but not really much point, the bit that contacts the bb is still going to be the same.

Modify do a flat hop nub and bucking combo, some people swear by it, some people have issues with it. Never tried it myself.
