So guys I finally found the time to spray paint my sniper.

I really like what I have done with it, it's plain and simple.

To Nutster: thanks for all the help, I ended up just going with the look more than actually trying to camouflage it :P

So here's how I did it.

1. First these were the materials I used:

- Two cans of Tamiya Color Spray Paints: "Olive Drab" and "Tan" (as they don't sell "Krylon" here in Hong Kong)

- Tissue Roll

- Scissors

- The stock of the L96 (duh! :P )

2. What I did was I first covered all the areas I did not want painted with the tissue paper. (eg. butt stock, inside, mag. area) Now I did not just put the tissue on the "areas", I first got about 1ft of tissue paper, folded it a few times until it was the right size to fit into the top part of the stock and mag. area. Then i taped the tissue down along the sides.

*Note* when taping down the sides make sure you only put a small thin edge of tape onto the stock with majority of tape on the tissue, that way you cover more area.

3. Once I taped down all the areas, I was ready to spray!

*Note* For techniques how to spray check out this video:

*Note* Remember to let the paint dry for at least 10mins *Note*

Here's a picture while the base was drying

4. Add your own designs with camouflage stencils or just make it simple like I did and add stripes!

5. If you have a bipod like me you may want to consider spray painting that too.

AND YOU ARE FINISHED.

Here is a Before/After shot:

Sorry for the bad quality pictures it was all from my camera phone.

I hope that helped. I am actually not finished, as I am considering spraying the barrel but not sure yet.

Here's the final picture. I love it!!

Good job.

Thanks for typing up how you did it as well, I'm sure someone will appreciate that ;)

nice job

paint job looks good even if it might not be effective when skirmishing

haha yea I was actually going for the look more than anything

do you guys think I should paint the barrell and/or scope?

its your choice but it will probably look better with barrel/scope painted

nutster

Alright, I think I will paint it over the weekend and post the final product
