I’ve heard that Camp Sparta is closing down next month!! A shame as the site reminded me a lot of Urban Assault which was also an RAF base, and also closed down!

Huge shame, especially as I was booked onto a milsim there in September.
Such is the way of Airsoft sites though - Land with planning permission is valuable, and I doubt airsoft will ever reach a point where it can dictate primary usage of a site.
It's always just a "Yeah mate, you can run toy soldiers there until we're ready to start work" arrangement for anywhere genuinely interesting to play at - alas!
