DyTac Starter AEG

Doh! Really?

27, 30, 35rps, more?

Does anyone know why it doesn't fire full-auto with semi selected? Or does it? Does it come with a sector gear chip fitted?

30ish give or take. Dytac make gear clips as parts however judging by their website they dont actually fit them to their guns.

So hold up a sec... 30-ish rps from a budget gun with no mis-feeding and the cutoff lever still works at 11.1V? This must be some boss design!?!

I'd be skeptical on the 11.1v OOTB claims, hardly any stock guns can survive 11.1v lipos out of the box, unless this Dytac one comes flawlessly shimmed, greased, mosfet included and Angle of engagement corrected. KWA advertised the hell out of their 2gx guns of being 11.1v lipo ready yet no mosfet,AOE correction or shims(Huur pressizin gaerbowcks) on it. All the claims of them living up to 4+ years have all been by people closely affiliated with KWA on their forum.

I'd still do all the mods needed for long life on a 11.1v on the Dytac. If the externals are crap, then I'd just recommend one of the newer JGs that come with a Mosfet, only shimming, greasing and Aoe correction on those.

RoF is nearer 20rps as stock.
Yeah, my point is that if it is capable of running on an 11.1V LiPo OOTB and also at 20rps, it must be "a boss design", by which I meant "Bollocks!" as there are a number of insurmountable issues which running a gun at such high speed and voltage throw up, which require additional parts.

Doesn't seem to be anything massively special inside...

There's one of those fatter pins to push the tappet plate on the sector gear, but it's still not as much as a delayer chip. I like the way it all stays in place when you take the right half of the shell off, but the shimming seems inadequate to prevent an 11.1V LiPo from shredding the gears, steel or no. No mention of anything funky about the cutoff lever, so, without a mechanical fix, you'd have to use an AB MOSFET to get semi-auto to work.

11.1V LiPo OOTB my arse.

While I respect and uphold your right to not believe stuff on the interwebs (let's face it, most of it's lies) I've used one, with an 11.1v LiPo, no aftermarket bits and it fires just fine and dandy at a high (although granted unverified) Rate of Fire. Must be pixies in the gearbox...
