My god! Stress levels 100000x

fitted the wood kit, a few amendments needed not an issue. Plug her in, ran a few mags no issues.

Then just went dead.

Took her apart, checked the fuse, checked the connections, no issues, took the motor out where it sits plugged in, Pew pew!

Awesome! Screwed motor back into place, attached battery, NOTHING. Took the motor back out, tested again, ABSOLUTELY FINE. Put it back in position, DEAD. Did this numerous times.

Am I missing something blindingly obvious!?

From what I remember (Cyma/Cybergun same pew?) I had to shim my Cyma Thompson screw as it was able to be tightened too much to the point it wouldn’t fire but if it was loose the grip was also loose.

The same happened on the dodgy KA one I bought off of here a while back, to the point there was at least half a centimetre gap from receiver to pistol grip to get it to work.

Not a guarantee it’s the same issue, obviously, but that was my issue so maybe the same for you?

Morning sir!

I shall have a look! Thankyou for an option :)

That indicates there is a short in the body.

Do you have a multimeter?

If so check continuity between the body and each motor wire.

Sounds like a short in the body.

I don’t 😭

it’s now working when in the pistol grip position. But as soon as I screw it in half way it again stops. Won’t lie, it’s giving me a headache 🤕

Hmm, that IS strange.

What do you mean, 'screw it in half way'?

What about if you pull it out slightly so the screw holes don't line up?

Also try moving the wire with each trigger pull.

Red circles, the main screws to keep it into place. As soon as I go over half way into them, it again dies and nothing happens. Take them back out and sit motor in place and it’s fine. 😩

Yeah, that could be the problem I mentioned of a short in the body.

With the motor in place try pushing the main wire around to see if that makes a difference.

No difference. And now the motor isn’t working at all 😩

than you for advising though!

I think there is a break inside a wire.  You'll have to open it up to find where it is.  It would help a lot to have a multimeter.  You just need a simple one.  They are quite cheap and easy to use for your needs.

Unfortunately it seems to be a problem with the wiring.  I think the plastic of a wire has been damaged so it's making contact with the metal body or another wire.  You'll have to open it up to find the damaged part
This is what I was hoping wouldn’t happen 😩 but I think you are correct.

Yeah it's a pain for sure but think of it as a chance to learn.

Make sure to unplug the battery just in case it's a short circuit.

Good luck and feel free to PM if you need more help

I have stripped the whole thing. Cleaned the connections whilst I was in it. I was adamant no issues with wires… then this sneaky little thing caught my eye as I was putting it back..

Fingers crossed! Although I’ve now lost the teeny tiny plastic bit that sits in the store selector dial that pops into the little hole hahaha! Couldn’t write this.

Nice find.

A drop of super glue should sort that out.

Give it a test of course to make sure that's the only damage.

The harder problem to find is if the metal wire inside is broken but not the plastic sleeve

What a day! Spot of super glue worked well! Cheers Ed! And I also cut very small lengths of insulation tape and wrapped that around it too.

But guess what!? I then snapped the red lead connection point on the motor off. Tried to reattach with a small bit on the soldring but it kept snapping off. 😩

Ran out to Platoon stores as they are only 10 minutes from me, they gave it a soldring and could get it firm enough. So I threw my toys out the pram (over the Thompson not the kind guys ant PS) and just bought a new motor.

Had enough of her now. 🤣

Thanks for everyone’s input though! Highly appreciated!
