Hey guys I have a tan crane stock that I want to paint black, just wondered if krylon or anything better?

I have used the Halfords Camoflage paint on both plastic mags and plastic stocks.

It's not cheap ( about £8 a tin) but it doesn't need much prep. Just make sure the surface is clean and grease free.

It looks good and wears pretty well.

Results are based on a combination of the right type of paint, correct preparation and lots of fine layers

For Black you have more choice, you can go to poundland, car or diy shops and get black spray paint

When finishing make the choice of whether to lacquer it for a more resilient finish

Camouflage painting guns etc is popular, but there is the goal of perfect finishes which doesn’t necessarily align with real life.  A real life black gun that gets camouflage painted on operations is rough and ready (though Americans prefer nice pretty finishes) and certainly for the British Army the rules are that it is to be non permanent.  Weapons painting was being done and affected essential parts, an official guide was produced on the right way with what can and cannot be painted

A rough and ready paint job gives an essence of reality
