Coming from a paintball background I love playing big games. 600-1700 players, 2-3 days, festival atmosphere, either 1 or 2 days of little games, socialising, trade expo and partying before a HUGE game on the last day. Is there anything like this in airsoft? I know there's the Zero One national game (or something like that) but are there any others?

There's some people that do milsim (military simulation) over 24hrs and I'd love to attend one of those

You could try the national airsoft website and see what's going on

That's a good plan my man. I don't know if I'm "hardcore" enough for the milsim events. From what I've gathered if you don't have the "right" gear then you can't play!

That's my belief aswell but as its trying to be true to the military then I suppose you can't turn up in your sunday best and a day glow weapon lol

Generally Milsims will require different coloured gear for each team, this is because red and blue bands aren't very realistic. All this means is that you may need a set of DDPM for one side or DPM for the other. You also will need midcap or lowcap mags.

It's the same as WW2 airsoft, the gear requirements are there mainly to make it easy to see which side someone is on and then the level of detail you put into it is up to you. Although I would guess that like WW2 airsoft, most milsimers will spend a fortune looking as perfect for the scenario as possible.

My friend goes to one in Slovakia it's maybe 2-300 over 2days, they stop playing at 10 pm and get drunk at start at 6. The only thing is they are a little extreme ie using real flash bangs and having no limits on FPS. he said it's generally fun apart from you get a few nut cases with high powered LMG's
