Best places to get you police uniforms

Nothing so exciting.  Police computer systems, which involve steering them on what information they need to record for given crimes.  You'd be amazed how much the average copper isn't taught about the law.  You could fill books with it, and they have, and I've had to read them.

As an ex-copper (with law degree) and now military copper, I can vouch for this statement.

Mmm, and I should add, it's not a criticism of the thin blue line.  You get, what, PACE, public order, maybe a teaser about traffic and a soupçon of sexual assault, then it's off to pick up the rest in the canteen, or bone up on Blackstones when you go for Sergeant.

Blair was criticised for creating a new offence each day, but I don't think it's slackened off much since then.  Lawyers can barely keep up with statute and case law in their own areas of narrow expertise: it's irrational to expect police to keep on top of the entire body of it.

PACE if you are lucky and have a vaguely competent teacher at Training School.  Otherwise its the various flavours of assaults, theft and burglary and thats about it.  It may hve changed in my time out but I doubt it.
