Battery Charger Help

Hi all, completely new to Airsoft and just got a Pro-Tronik battery charger for Christmas along with two 1600mAh 1.2v batteries for my G&G UMG. The charger is a little confusing, not only are the instructions in french however there are various options on it like a dial from 500mA-1000mA and another dial labelled "Elements" with the numbers 2 through to 10 on it? Can anybody shed any light on this for me as I was hoping to have a shot or two later on!

Did a google search and found these instructions in English so they may help if they are for your charger:-

Are you sure your batteries are only 1.2v? I would have expected them to be 8.4v Ni-Mh or possibly 9.6v.

Check out the `guides' section of the forum as there is a section on battery charge times. I would use the lower 500ma setting for 1600 mAh batteries.
