Hi,

What is the difference between a lipo (i think they are called that) and a normal battery, and why which one is better?

Voltage

Lipo is 11V Roughly

Normal ones ethier roughly 8v or 9v

V (volts) effect your Rate Of Fire (ROF) the higher the V the higher the ROF

cool thanks for clearing that up for me, i am getting a new gun SIG 552 Commando AEG ICS adn some guys were saying how they were using lipos in them, i just wondered what they were

Lipo's are considerably more than 'just volatage'

they come in 7.4V, 11.2V and increments thereafter for custom jobbies

they have a much higher discharge rate and If not looked after are EXTREMELY dangerous, they also need to be balanced regualraly, not fully discharged and have to use a lipo charger to charge them.

BUT

you get a higher ROF from a lower voltage and trigger response is always vastly improved over a stock NiMh battery.

I would personally avoid recommending them to people who are new to airsofting or may not want the hassle involved with them
