AUG Phantom

So I'm thinking of getting an APS AUG;

And getting a Phantom kit for it;

The plan being to get an M120 spring, bi0pod, scope and moding it so it's locked to single fire, so I can use it as a DMR.

Anyways I was wondering if any one has any experience with the Phantom conversion it? is it a good buy, really heavy, hard to attach, only work with TM Augs, etc?

personally i think the phantom makes the aug look ugly. and whilst i prefer the military version that sniper aug does look drooly...

something that might be of more interest, if the trigger mechanic is the same as mine making it semi only is dead simple, dont even have to open the gear box, simply a matter of sliding a small metal plate out of the trigger.

Oh god.... those aug's with a barret muzzle break and barrel look really hideous....

honestly, I think a JG AUG A3 with a silencer at the end will looks so much better than the others

I do have to say that the Phantom kit is one of the most pig ugly weapon add-ons ever imo.

I did look at the garret style AUG Sniper rifle... just rather worried that it be really front heavy. Although it does look nice.

Plus if I get the APS AUG it's got a quick change spring gear box so I can swap springs, as I've noticed that sites DMR (semi auto AEGs) FPS limits do vary – would be nice to change spring on the day to get maximum FPS.

The extra long Phantom does look a bit silly. The shorter one looks nice. Plus I've read if you have a very long inner barrel you need to change the cylinder (for some pressure to barrel length ratio thingy).

Maybe if I can find just the Barret barrel, I can add it to a APS AUG?

The cylinder type is all about Rate Of Fire. The closer the vents are to the cylinder head, the sooner air is sucked through them on the back stroke of the piston, which thus releases some of the suction created by air only being able to enter through the piston vents, hence it will go slightly faster. It also means that compression can only begin on the forward stroke once the piston head passes the cylinder vents.

But for a DMR it doesn't matter, because you'll want to use the hottest battery you can get away with, for trigger response, right? And no full-auto ROF to worry about. So may as well use a cylinder without vents and that way you'll be sure you're good to go with any barrel length.
