Random pic that popped up on my Pinterest feed (yeah, yeah it's not all mood boards and wedding dresses), links back to some Asian Somogear reseller but I'm trying to work out what make those pouches but my Google Fu is letting me down!

The rig looks to be Spiritus (or at least Spiritus straps) and what looks like a Spiritus Fanny Pack but those pouches are eluding me. Anyone recognise them?

Unless you specifically wanted MC Arid, pouches from carcajoutactical or directactiongear.com might get you near to them?

Cool, ta. It was the design more than the MC Arid!

I really don't get the current fad of lazer cutting the top flap of closed magazine pouches. Half the benefit of a closed pouch is to keep the water and filth off your mags...

You hit the nail on the head..........FAD.

Looks purty,  that's all, no benefits to it.

You're right, but then most of the folks using these in anger aren't in the field for long and probably appreciate drainage over clean mags.

They do make it easier to have a flap that works for multiple types and sizes of mags though.
