Not too much of an issue if your emergency contact is in the camping chair next to you 

 
I wear my Apple Watch and use a protective plastic cover. 
 

I like tracking Airsoft as a workout! Get a great sense of how many calories you can burn and heart rates

 
 
I never wear a watch these days, I'm a butcher so haven't worn a watch for hygiene reasons (at work) for over 40 years so never been in the habit of wearing one (still get the odd birthday or xmas pressie watch from family members that have NEVER seen me wear one). These days I use my phone for the time & in game  I either move forward with the rest of the slowpokes & wait for the whistle or whoops when the target is taken/overrun.

 
I've always ran with a cheapo watch but the other day I accidentally forgot to change it and used my automatic watch and watched a BB hit it and I had a heart attack luckily no damage just bounced off but straight after took it off and went back to not wearing one as I didn't have my cheap digital one with me. 

 
I use a second hand Garmin fenix 4(?).

it’s got hardened steel bevel and gorilla glass. Survived the last few years fine ?
