Got all my new kit :D so happy with it all!
...until someone shoots that tiny bit of flesh on your cheek that is poking out :D

NNNNNECROPOST!!!!

TMC Airframe
Crye Rails
Ops Core H-Nape in tan
Team Wendy zap pads
Crye Airframe cover
Norotos universal shroud
Norotos AKA2 for wilcox dovetail mounts
Peltor Comtac ACH dual comm on arc rail mounts
OSOE NSW helmet ballast with ACR MS2000
Night Evolution MPLS (princeton tech knockoff)

Nice. What are the NE MPLS like? was thinking of one as a navigation light rather than using my weapon light!

The light itself is decent enough, the mounts are complete shit though, had to drown it in superglue to get it to stay together.

If I were to get another one, I'd spend the extra tenner for a proper princeton tech MPLS.

It seems that most replica airsoft type helmets max out at 60-61(ish) cm, in a one size fits all kinda way.

Does anyone know a brand or make that is designed for those with a larger heed??!!

Check out M88 PASGT 'fritz' helmets. They tend to fit a big head (like mine lol). Here's one on Amazon for next to feck all money, and if you look at the pics, you'll see one of them has the dimensions on it, which should give you an idea whether it will suit you:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/M88-Tactical-Helmet-Black-SWAT/dp/B005RFOQC6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_sg_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0KV0J30TC6ZA7ZJC5HQ4

Yeah, I know, everyone else has FAST helmets or MICH ones (except me, who does use an M88), but you can get camo covers for the M88 which make it look good, for two quid from here:

http://www.tacticalgeartrade.co.uk/head-gear/helmet-cover.html

They are decent quality, I have one of those multicam ones for mine.

If you fancy going mental and attaching all kinds of crap to it to make it look more 'tacticool', then you can get all that cobblers for an M88 PASGT from here:

I use the M88 helmet with British DPM cover, you can put foliage in it to blend in or have bits of scrim scarff hanging down to break up the shape

Not much cover/foliage to use in the deserts of afgan & Iraq which is where the fast helmets were designed for

Airsoft peak sell fma helmets in size l/xl which should do the job. They're pretty good quality too.

Some good links there, thanks guys, I've got a Para helmet that I can run with either MTP or DPM covers and an Emmerson FAST PJ in MTP which fits, but is snug, I'm having trouble getting a comms system to fit it. I just wondered if any companies actually made sizes or its a one size fits all and the best you can hope for is an adjustment wheel, (it gives you about 58-60cm)

Reference comms on a fast style helmet, even with one that fits properly routing a headband underneath can be uncomfortable, try having a look at arc rail adapters for a sordin or comtac headset. Massively improved helmet stability too :-)

As for getting the FMA L/XL helmets to fit bigger heads, rip out the shitty occ-dial that comes with it, fit a h-nape and use mich helmet pads, should give you plenty more room!

Oh I tried all that JC, I have an Emmerson FAST PJ, got myself a Z Tactical MSA Sordin headset and rail adapters to go with from Airosft peak, the headset is very good, I particularly like the ambient noise amplification and ear defence cut off when there's a loud band. But the rail adapters are complete dross. In order to fit them to the head set you have to do some serious mod work on it, to strip it down, the metal arms have to be bent out of shape to remove. The rail adapters are poor quality and only one side would fix correctly so that it folds down and seals in place, the other side just wouldn't do it. Still scratching my head for a solution. I'd seen guys running with a full head set under their FAST, but mine is too small, or my head it too massive! I;m a size 60cm and the FAST is a snug fit, pretty comfortable actually.

Any advice on rail adapters gratefully received

Best advice I can give for stuff like that is to buy real ones, repro stuff for looks is often good enough, but if you require something to be mechanically sound then quite often the Chinese knock-off will fall well short of the mark.

I use peltor rail adapters and comtac ACH headphones on my helmet, expensive but worth every penny in that I know I could boot it across a room with every confidence it'd all still work when it stopped moving.

I think I've found my first problem, my rail adapters are for a Comtac type headset, but my headset is a Sordin type! (Doh!!) I think this means that the clips that hold them in place are different?

I've found this company in the states:

http://ironforgedconcepts.com/project/order-sara-gen-2/

Who sell clips thast can be fitted to Sordin headsets so you can have them rail adaptor mounted or back on your head band

They're not cheap, a set of four little clips is about 70USD, then there's their European freight charges!

They do a set of the clips with a set of Peltor rail adapters which would be rock solid, as you say, but its gonna cost me nearly 200USD!!!

The things I do for airsoft! She is a cruel mistress, but I can't help it!!

I'll let you know how I get on...

Hmm never thought of a helmet before reading this thread, normally just plonk a black beanie hat on to stop me getting shot in the forehead..

But now I really want a tactiCOOL helmet with unnecessary attachments dammit!!!

The sordin ones are different mate yeah, You can get clones of them too, FMA do a set and most FMA stuff ive had has been decent enough, obviousky not as tough as the real ones though.
