aeg vs gbb ?

Hey guys just wondering apart from the obvious what's the main differences between gbb and aeg rifs and being a newbie to airsoft what wld be the best choice for me as I like the npas kits for gbb being able to adjust fps in a matter of seconds

There are various electric options out there with options than enable you to quickly adjust your FPS, or indeed swap your spring entirely.

For a new player, gas-in-mag GBBRs are very strongly not recommended. Compared to AEGs (before someone with a new GBB rifle gets offended) they're inconsistent, expensive to run, require far more maintenance, have expensive + fragile magazines with a low BB capacity, generally perform quite poorly in cold weather and break with a far higher frequency. Start off with an AEG (presuming you're over 18 and have a defence within the rules of the VCRA that allows you to purchase RIFs).

Cheers for the reply so in the long run an aeg would be better due to parts wearing out etc what systems are there for aegs that allow u to make quick fps adjustments like an NPAS does?

Would highly recommend getting an AEG first. Alot of AEG's now a days have a quick change spring system which allow you to change fps in a matter of seconds too.

From an AEG I'd get a gas pistol, then decide if you want to try a GBBR. In my eyes, you're spending alot more for something that will perform less.

£30-40 per magazine that holds 30 rounds, compared to £15-£25 per magazine that can hold from 30 to 450 rounds?

Plus, you've got to think about gas prices, and compare that to electrics. Gas is expensive, recharging a battery isn't (in comparison)

Not saying GBBR's are bad, but for a newbie? AEG mate.

Also, alot of AEG's have blow back on if you want that effect.

The only reason I would think that someone would want to do it is that they want to get through the chrono check and then turn the FPS up to play with. This is a potentially dangerous thing to do and should would get you banned for life from the site if you get found out.

the reason for the instant fps change would be if my rif came in to hot for the sites crono limits then a quick turn of the alan key and i cld adjust it to within the sites limits at no point would i try to break site saftey rules because they are in place for a reason

Either way, I like to do a poor man's chrono so I have an estimation.

My Magpul Masada AEG, literally, take the handguard off with one pin, barrel comes out then, pop out 3 other pins and you have access to the spring mechanism.

2 second job, was back in the field in a couple of mins!

ahh see i thought aeg's would be more tricky to adjust pluss having zero experiance with aeg's but i do have experiance with gas systems from my paintball days shame i cant go and buy both an aeg and a gbb lol
