Hi everyone,

I have a Armalite M15 ranger, now the spec says its 360fps, but some sites that sell the gun say 348fps. I've not chrono mine so not sure what it shoots at but now virtually all sites are 350 fps. So if it is firing hot what can I do?

Cheers

There is a variety of ways to de tune an AEGs power, they vary in complexity.

The cheapo way is to leave the spring compressed overnight.

Best easy way is to fit a slightly shorter barrel.

Depends where you play most, if you like to play indoors / CQB then I would strongly advise down grading to 328 fps. You'll need a different spring for that, or trim your current spring.

If you're not techy get a local shop or site tech to do it for you.

Tell them your desired FPS and they'll get it bang on

When I first got mine it was firing at 360fps. Our   retailers tech said fire a couple of thousand rounds through it and it’ll drop below 350fps. Great, but not if you wanted to use it tomorrow. You can do a spring change, or even adjust the AoE to drop the FPS by 10.

Thanks guys, I have found a site that allows up to 370, so might play there for a while, then it will drop down the fps. You think there would be a % allowing for bb used, air temp etc...?

Prisce, you say a spring change, do you know where I can get one? Easy to do?

The only % that I know sites add is for chrono reading error (some chronos will say different fps to each other under the same circumstances)
370fps will be a dead stop maximum though as that's the UK law for Full Auto guns.

I know most sites are usually just 330 with a max of 350 (330 + 5% = 346.5.)
So to me, the 370 is just 350 + 5% again. Could be wrong though.

Do a little research, find out what spring your rifle currently has in, get one lower. If your not confident doing the tech work, Any tech at a local shop or site will be able to do it.
