You may all call me silly for starting this when a mass produced version is coming out in the next month or so but i feel like it. So now thats out of the way, we can begin.

My base gun is ares/amoeba am-009 so from the get go i have a reasonably accurate ris/handguard and receiver; I wont be changing any of these. My main reference picture is this

And this rifle has from what i can tell a 10/12" ris which is what i already have and it happens to be octagonal, like mine. So the next thing i need is a stock, but then there is the question of battery storage. If i cant come up with a better idea, i'll get someone to front wire my rifle then use a PEQ box. I will state now that the stock is at the bottom of the shopping list. The one i plan on using is this VFC replica 416c stock http://www.ebairsoft.com/aabb-hk416c-style-stock-416aeg-p-7548.html it seems farily accurate and with some modding to the buttplate it will look fine. But as i said i will be sticking to the battleaxe stock for now. Next is the suppressor, i'll need a rounded one of about 5-6 inches. As of yet i can't find a suitable one as i'd like it to be "integrally" suppressed, if anyone can help me out on this it would be appreciated. If i can gather the money together for this it should be ready by the end of autumn time. So, what i need help with is:

  1. Battery placement
  2. Suppressor
  3. Modding a stock to fit the receiver
Any input or suggestions are very useful :D

The stock will be the hard part. You want an MP5 stock on an M4. This would mean modding the receiver and an Mp5 stock rather drastically.

This is another option: http://www.commandairsoft.com/ICS-MA-93-Airsoft-CXP-Retractable-Stock-AEG-p/ma-93.htm

Without seeing one in the flesh, I don't know if you can put the battery in it.

The supressor should be relatively simple, you will need a shorter outer barrel and a suppressor the right size.

I was thinking about that stock originally but i heard it has some kind of funky stock attachment that only goes with ICS rifles.

Funnily enough, I was toying with the idea too, For integral suppression you have two options, a short barrel, with a suppressor. I would guess at 9 inch barrel with a 4 inch suppressor and a 12 inch ras to make it poke out a bit.

Or get one of the suppressor with removable ends that have foam inside, remove one end, slide the foam over the barrel and the silencer onto that. It won't fall off, but will be loose, a drop of aryldite would secure it.

Was mine before I went in a different direction.

The ICS stinger looks like the option for a stock £45 on ebay last time I checked, will try to find the link.

Is there a real world honey badger, as in a production gun, you could buy or is it a custom / COD fantasy gun?

Fair shout, but i'm coming from an airsoft (aesthetics) point of view.

I've found a suppressor. http://www.ebairsoft.com/auto-tracer-silencer-type-p-6552.html The only real specification for this was that it was rounded at the top. And to sweeten the deal, its a tracer. Its 7" long so with a 6" OB that will make the RIS/suppressor set up 13" long with an inch of suppressor hanging out the end. I could always use a 7" barrel and have more exposed suppressor but that'll be a future decision. Does anyone know the measurements for the full length version? Im not sure if the Wiki ones are for the shorter version or the long version is a lot smaller than i thought it was.

Those tracers are utter crap.

Aesthetics are aesthetics though regardless of the function of the weapon. To me they look pretty similar on account of the form following function principle. I do prefer the stock on the Honey Badger but it's only like that because at its heart its still an AR receiver with the old style gas system.

The shell is the only thing i need really. If they're that bad i'll fill it with foam instead.

The handguard /ris and flash hider put me off completely.

If it's just the shell you need then ebairsoft do the same can without the tracer gubbins for a lot less. They also do it without the logo stuff.

Have a google for Sig MCX. The one in the picture you refer to is an early prototype. All the others have integral suppressors like the Honey Badger. Like here (link from the previous page) http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/04/foghorn/first-impressions-sig-sauers-mpx-smg/

Wow! Doesn't look half bad! Personally AR-15 platforms that use 9mm have never appealed to me, but a 5.56 version would do me.

Not sure on what suppressor any more because i dont want it to look slim and small compared to the ris. The inner diameter is 1.8" so i'd want a suppressor about 1.5/1.7". I've decided on an outer barrel length of 4" which i've inquired to straffam about as he has one for sale. I'll need a suppressor of 9" in length if anyone has one for sale.
