A loadout too far

Yeah SFrankish, that's the geezer.

I like little touches for authenticity, thats why.

I've got no skirmish-y need for the whole decon kit that ought to be carried with an S10 and MK4 NBC suit, the various bits just make good toys :P

You're right, Russ. Somebody must have discovered a stash of them lurking in some MOD cellar somewhere recently!

BTW, did you catch a film called "The Devil's Rock"(2011) t'other day on Horror channel (149 on Virgin, 'kknows on Ski or whatever)? Some good WW2 Brit Commando Loadout-age on the 2 (Kiwi) main protagonists. And it's a giggle as a film too.

Edit: and you've got to get one of those suppressors with the canvas collar-thingy. They look even cooler than an MP5 SD, and let's be fair, that isn't so easy.

That is the 'Light Anti Gas respirator' Gas Mask used from D-Day onwards up until it was replaced by the S6 in the 60s.

Does make me laugh that you want an actual gas mask for authenticity...

...but for the actual outfit you consider a fancy dress costume to be a reasonable option :D

Btw, I decided to ask on the WW2 forums about the validity of a sawn off shotgun. The answer is pretty much:

So I think I will get one anyway but might not take it to WW2 events :D

I can't bring myself to recommend a BWKK. They are very complicated to change settings and not reliable as far as i can tell. It's also damn difficult to know if it has broken or if you have fucked up the settings. Plus the entire concept of plug'n'play MOSFETs is bollocks. 1/2 the point is to streamline the circuit so it is low resistance - if you just plug the thing in between the battery and trigger, you don't gain anything other than the bells and whistles the programming allows. But BWKK's can be wired properly. I spose that if you don't mess with it much, just wire it with a 3rd wire to the trigger and set your burst control to 1, then it may well be ok. Seriously though, don't mess with it's more complex functions and don't ever swap out a low charge LiPo (when the LiPo alarm signal sounds) for a NiMh with a higher voltage, because doing that freaks it out so badly that the factory reset procedure no longer works...

Guess that won't be an issue as I only use NiMHs, especially on the sten as it would be a lot more hassle to fit a LiPo in.

Goggles have arrived. The lenses are pretty heavy duty but the way they clip into the frame isn't so I have used a bit of epoxy to hold them in more securely. Just need to give them a test and good to go.

Also recieved my Burst Wizard Mosfet. It works some of the time but I do get the occasional 2 round burst. The other problem is I cannot get the screw that holds the collar with the rear sight out. The screw just turns and doesn't come out so I can't get the mosfet inside the gun :(

Guess I will have to drill it out

Goggles will take hits rather well, if you shoot them on the angle of the lens where I thought they would be weakest, it actually cuts the bb in half :)

Got the screw out of my Sten and fitted the Mosfet inside, now for no apparent reason the semi auto started working every time.

Denim battledress has arrived, all set for a day out at Spartan Airsoft in full WW2 gear on Sunday :)

I can see now how battledress trousers are the ideal choice for getting rid of soil from an escape tunnel.

My Mk23 Socom is now officially pocket sized, actually I could almost fit my MP5 in the leg pocket :D

As there are pictures posted on the Spartan web site after each game and every other player is likely to be in boring modern gear with some sort of M4, I'm sure there will be pictures.

Take the bicep part of a sleeve off a green woolly-pully, hem a turnup at the wider end and sew straight across the other end - tadaah!
I am allergic to wool so I don't own a woolly-pully and even if I did wearing it on my head would cause bad eczema on my forehead. Green Beret or Brodie helmet would be okay though.

Of course! Doh! Goldfish maneuver strikes again

You could always use polyester - I just love those bags they wore on their heads. I wonder if anyone could keep a straight face when referring to them as "hats"?

Cap comforter seems to be the term used. I think it started as a way to make helmets more comfortable?
