@RogerborgM4 Receiver. Swapping out an old G&P one which has given nothing but trouble. Unfortunately the new E&C one (being the only brand that appears to have availability?) is now giving me different problems. I'll persevere. I just needed to moan and leave it for a few days.

Getting real fucking demoralised with AEGs and (external) parts and shit. Nothing fits together, it's all garbage, they always break. "TM standard" bollocks. Really miserable day. Just tempted to chuck it all in the bin and eat the loss.

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

More data (as I realised the data set above doesn't show the point I was trying to make, that semi is low FPS until I add 1 step of Active Brake, which brings it in line with the FPS shown on auto).  SEMI No AB, SEMI ABx1, and AUTO were recorded using a Solink brushless motor. The "Chaoli"...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

Hello again! I finally got round to fixing my gun and it seems to be operating okay. Piston head is now thread locked in. I feel that there is a slight springy "twang" to the end of each shot, but not sure what I can do about that without breaking it open again; I want to get at least one game...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

Disassembled the whole thing - turns out: The piston head has detached from the piston. No damage. This is probably cos I didn't use threadlock. The nozzle lips that let it sit in the tappet plate have broken along one cardinal edge, but I have an XT POM-based replacement that I wanted to...

Airsoft Parts in Carry-On Luggage – My Experience with Airport Security (Spain to UK)

I'm also interested in this, but it may be that @Asomodai's plane ticket was of the "Economy Lite" variety that doesn't allow for checked hold luggage. (Tangent: I blame COVID for these types of fares seemingly now being so widespread.) In any case, thanks for sharing OP. Airport security is...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

My bad, I've actually set SEMI to have just 1 (not 2) step of Active Braking. Precocking (I think) tries to get the spring to stop at the rearmost position ready for the next shot but I have not turned that on in any way for either SEMI or AUTO. At the moment the gun is set up thusly: SEMI...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

Hello gang, Solink 35k motor arrived yesterday, which I immediately slotted into my M906C. A superlative improvement over the stock motor - the gun is now very snappy, very responsive, a semi-auto spamming machine. So me happy.  However, I have a slight conundrum now. On semi, FPS hovered...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

I used long thin metal files which meant I could only tackle the job from certain angles. This resulted, try as I might to avoid it, in other parts of the gearbox in line with the file also getting a very light sanding, but this shouldn't really effect anything.

Gel blaster RIFs - what's up with those?

Why are they so cheap? Surely they're not that mechanically different from regular AEGs? Or am I mistaken?

Trouble shouldering rifle with Osprey MkIV

No, I will REFUSE to see the light, and I WILL wear twice my weight in armour. Nyeh. It makes me feel... sexy. (Here is an interesting article (A) from West Point about the weight a modern infantryman should or should not be expected to carry).

hehe yeah :D . It's cos the parts didn't cost much and I was probably thinking "they MUST make the gun better cos I'm spending money on it". I'll hang onto the stock parts though in case I want to put them back in.

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

It took me a while because of the ambidextrous bolt releases (I forgot how to put it back together and needed to go hunting on Youtube), but it's functioning again. I will admit that a sense of impatience did overcome me toward the end, thus the shimming is probably "good enough" rather than...

Sector bottom - 0.8mm Sector top - 1.0mm Spur bottom - 0.5mm Spur top - 0.8mm Bevel bottom - 0.5mm Bevel top - 0.2mm Ugh. I never want to be an airsoft tech thanks to shimming. Gonna try and put it back together. (If the numbers above look horrifically off to you, please say so.)

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

Held off on putting it back together as I needed more shims, which have now arrived. I've never shimmed before so I want to do a good job, but my god is this a boring process. It's like I've acquired a subject-specific instance of ADHD just for shimming. That aside, I think I'm going to have to...

Double Eagle M906C - Internal upgrades / tinkering

Yes, apologies, I misread the instructions as saying that the magnet holder shouldn't be in contact with that post (it should!) I don't have a dremel to hand but some hand files have done the trick. Have done the sensor tests and it's all working! Now to reassemble it without too much cursing...
