    Have you checked the hop up arm is in the right hole on the cam? Basically on the cam you slide to adjust the hop up has a small metal bracket that contacts the rubber. This is often placed in the wrong slot on the cam, rendering the hop adjustment pretty useless.

    You don't remove your car Engine to check the piston rings in a service do you? You check the parts that are likely to wear with normal use. Of which in an aeg is very few.
