    Fails to Fire

Yeah, if it's a V2 GB, you'll trip over yourself finding YT tutorials for it. Have a look at a few before you start and pick the best one(s) to refer to. First time I stripped mine I had it playing on the iphone on the table next to the GB. Press play, Watch, pause, unscrew, play, watch, pause...

    Fails to Fire

Didn't mean to teach you how to suck eggs. :) I'm at the same stage with mine - replacing the trigger mech and wiring. Also taking the opportunity to convert the whole thing to Deans and fit a Mosfet. Good luck with the GB re-assembly. Again, youtube, patience and double check everything and...

    Fails to Fire

I'm sure no offence was intended. They are referring to Immediate Action/Gas stoppage drills in real steel weapons handling. These are drilled into military recruits so much that you never forget them! Weapon instructors shout, "Weapon fires, weapon stops" or "Weapon fails to fire". Those of us...

    Fails to Fire

Any other symptoms? Sounds similar to an issue I have had. Mine was trigger switch which, as you say, is in the GB. Check all that you can along the whole circuit to see if you can identify where the current is being lost. If it is identified as being the trigger, and if you feel able, I'd...

Trigger issues 2, "Son of Trigger Issues"

Yep, just the M15A4 It's a 9.6v NiMH. Yeah, I've ordered one. Will also get some switch grease for when I install it. See how it goes. No love for the Mosfets?

Trigger issues 2, "Son of Trigger Issues"

OK, technical question for you: I had a repeat of my previous "no firing" issue. Last time, a strip of the Gearbox revealed that it seemed to be a dirty trigger switch issue which resolved after I cleaned it a bit. So on Sunday, mid-skirmish, my gun stopped firing again with the same symptoms...

Reasons to sell or not to sell my Aimpoint CompM4

If it is 7.2v then it is more likely a NiMH. With cells of 1.2v the NiMH voltages are multiples of that (7.2, 8.4, 9.6 etc). Lipos (IIRC) come in multiples of 3.7v (typically 7.4 or 11.1) with a bunch of other numbers that are all witchcraft to me, to be honest, as I don't run them so I don't...

Reasons to sell or not to sell my Aimpoint CompM4

M_P makes a good point. Might be worth getting hold of a decent quality clone and comparing them side by side and then decide what your priorities are. If you get rid of it now, you might regret it later on once you have a more high end gun etc. You could replace it, but it's a lot to shell...

Reasons to sell or not to sell my Aimpoint CompM4

Geoff, there's no disputing the RS one would be better. Maybe I got lucky, but I have a clone 552 and it is pin sharp and clear as crystal. That said, I've not looked through a RS one so I defer to you better frame of reference. For airsoft use, there's no NEED for RS kit, but if money were no...

Reasons to sell or not to sell my Aimpoint CompM4

My neighbour is an inconsiderate git who wouldn't pee on me if I was on fire, so I have all of the jealousy. Firstly, nice optics! If I had a RS one I wouldn't know whether to keep or sell either, so I can't really give any useful guidance. Go with what you feel. for airsofting purposes, as £25...

    Bio Ammo

Double check you can use non-site bought ammo at all. One of my local sites ONLY allow the bio bought actually on site and do mag checks randomly throughout the day. Not aware of any Bio BBs over the 0.3 weight, I'm afraid.

Electrical problem in a CA M15A4 RIS Sportline

Thanks RR01. I agree - I think the barrel change is co-incidental to the problem. Other than physical proximity to onw another, there is nothing linking the receivers. Split it again last night, took the motor out, tightened up the contacts and checked what I could see without further...
