Unless it has changed lately this is not the case.  It will be faster with a UKARA Registration on the package but otherwise they will write to you for your defence.  I have imported maybe half a dozen guns this way, not for maybe 5 years though. Having said that if buying a gun the saving...

Away Jez get the MC51's  ( G3 SBS & G3K ) fitted with a proper 7.62 cocking ube and handle. letting down an otherwise remarkable collection.  Do you still own all of those?
