@James my company primarily uses Longmoor military camp as it's very central for all the detachments, however we also use Pirbright (main training base in the South) and we've been all over the UK for annual camps including Salisbury Plains, Yorkshire and Dartmoor

Just a note on flying with the ATC, its open to any enrolled cadet (13+) but there are now height restrictions so forget it if your tiny or super tall ( me :( ) .

My schools main bullies go to army cadets. -_-

I heard from a mate it was 16+. Must have changed. I still don't think it's worth joining to do everything an army cadet does and have to wear a silly uniform, with the only extra aspect of training involve flying in gliders which you can easily do normally- you can't even own let alone fire a semi automatic rifle with a calibre larger than .22 normally!

The flying scholarships are 16+ but the normal AEF flights are not.

On the one hand it's good for you to do. On the other it's full of bellends.

Everything's full of bell ends if you look hard enough. I've just encountered more of them in the ATC on joint parades etc.

Funny thing is the ATC says the same about the ACF on joint parades... I think you have probably encountered the band of cadets that is convinced that the ATC is best and looks down at the other cadet forces. The same band exists in every cadet force.

As above! There is one of those in our Squadron but then as I said, all the school bullies and there cronies go to Army cadets......

Really wish I'd found ou about marine cadets sooner!

The marine cadets i've met were hardly saints either. If you want to join them there is nothing stopping you leaving your Sqn and joining them.
