easiest way to officer would be through getting a degree. Screw trying to get promoted all the way from private :P

erm, no.

You can join as an officer with 180 UCAS points, no need for a degree (in fact, I'd advise AGAINST getting a degree since you no longer get any bonus seniority for joining as a graduate).

Get involved in voluntary activities, specifically things which develop you as a person or help you to develop others (AIRSOFT DOES NOT COUNT). Volunteer in a homeless shelter or something.

Also, contact your local AFCO and speak to a recruiter, ask them specifically what sort...

Ah depends what sort i presume. I've been looking at applying for navy jobs and they all require degrees.

good idea jcheeeseright never thought about that stuff thanks!

only Navy officer positions that require degrees are Medical Officer, Engineering Officer and Hydrographics/Meterological Officer. If you want to be aircrew, ATC, warfare or logistics then 180 UCAS points is all you need.

Same follows for Army and RAF, there are jobs that require a degree but they're highly specialised.

Probably worth heading down to your local recruitment centre thing, I've been a couple of times and they're very helpful

The chance of death is extremely slim since our involvement in the middle east is shrinking rapidly (thank god)

He's more likely to be wounded in by a numpty on our side who didn't clear his weapon properly while doing NSPs- I think that one of the first deaths in Iraq was caused by that. Not too sure though.
