Why not both? Been playing 2 more, simply because of the range of guns and vehicles. 3 is nice and all, but only a handful of guns and only like 3 are based of real ones.

I wanted it for the mods, im tired of DayZ SA and just want to killl people with lots of guns.

ArmA2, especially if you want it for the mods. The wider range of weapons etc. and the fact it's not set in the future like ArmA3 makes it so much better. That said, ArmA3 King of the Hill game mode is pretty good for CQC action

Arma 3,in my opinion has much better overall 'feel' for combat and movement,sound is also better. Arma 2 feels 'disconnected' for me,but still fun when you get in the zone. Massive mod support is also a plus. Why not both I say? A2 is cheap as chips,and A3 isn;t too pricey either.

Any of you guys play ARMA Life servers? It's f*cking amazing. It really should be made into a standalone like DayZ, but it's not as popular. I prefer ARMA 2 combined operations for Life servers. ARMA 3 feels sort of unfinished and lacking for some reason, it just didn't match my expectations because ARMA 2 was brilliant. I really enjoyed the terrains of Chernarus and Takistan too compared to Altis and Stratis. Mediterranean is cool but I like the authentic Afghan feel and the fore...

Both are great games though. Wish I would get my PC fixed because the user profile data error is a bit more complicated than the example on Microsoft help. It means I can't download things etc.

Also I have to admit I tried hacking ARMA 2 once like 2 or 3 years ago and it is one of the most stupid things I've ever done, no lie. Absolutely loved playing ARMA 2 life and now I can't. Genuinely have some brilliant memories of thst game and can't even imagine how much of a lau...

^ can't imagine how much of a laugh it would have been if I was playing the game with a mate. In fact well we did once (as in like taking turns on one PC) it was funny as f*ck. In fact that was the first time we ever played! We didn't know what to do and the cops stopped this car so whilst they had their hands up being searched we knicked the car and drove off! Got killed...but was worth it because it was so funny.

One of my favourite things about the ArmA2 mods/game modes (e.g. DayZ, Takistan life, etc.) is playing with a group of friends when none of you really know what you're doing.

The other thing I love about ArmA2 is when everyone in a server co-operates and works together, using proper squads, e.g. having one squad doing missions, while another defends base, another gathers resources, and another scouts the enemy base.

Arma 3 will be better in all ways once all the goodies from Arma 2 get ported. The movement is way better in 3 which makes a massive difference but it's lacking content for the most part. Hopefully the action menu gets redone as it sucks still.

There's something I absolutely hate about ArmA3, can't quite put my finger on it. Something to do with aiming/shooting, it just feels really, really weird and difficult in comparison to ArmA2.

It's fine with a little bit of practice, I had to run a timed shooting range that involved shooting around obstacles. In Arma 2 you would have had to expose yourself almost completely to hit them. Shooting past 600 or so yards doesn't feel right though.

Same Liam, that's how I feel about it. Been playing some more Life today and it's good but I'm just waiting on getting white listed to be a cop.

There is something really good about ARMA 2 but I just don't know what it is!

FrankieOnPC's latest video has kinda swayed my towards 3, arma 2 will be "75% off" forever now so theres no rush for getting it.

ARMA3, don't get me wrong though, 2 is fantastic. However, in a few weeks its going to be in deep trouble as gamespy is shutting down for good. Goodbye ability to access servers.

Yeah i read that somewhere. Hopefully all the mod devs will transfer/send over/whatever everything onto 3.
