If it's a cqbr pew why do you need another lower? I've made a Mk18mod0 based on a lancer Lancer Tactical M933 Commando AEG GEN 2, Black

That looks awesome. Well I guess I kinda just wanna have another gearbox, motor and maybe hop setup to choose from. I’ve put it in the shop a bunch and they put in a gate titan but all in all not massively happy with it and had issues. It’s currently at a point where it can do decent with .25 bbs but I’d like to be able to do heavier. Suppose just wondering what’s compatible. Also do you use mid cap mags? What do you find that work?

I'm a hicap guy with aeg's (tried midcaps but always needed to reload at the wrong time), this isn't my fav pew to use as it's front wired (for now) & a pain to stick a battery in.

Ah I see, mine is rear wired and I’ve got some epm1s but I’m having a bit of trouble with them

try some basic stanags, I've a few pews that are fussy with mags

Are the EPM1's new? If so, did you break them in?

The epms are second hand, but just have feeding issues on this gun, no issues with my other guns with them

Is the mag wobbly in the rifle? Might need some shimming in the magwell with some velcro if so just to seat it correctly

The mag moves ever so slightly, it isn’t loose like it doesn’t fall out when I press the release. It seems like it fits its just feeding issues, sometimes it feeds ok sometimes not. I will just have to test it again soon cause I’ve recently changed the motor

The usually done thing (both real world and airsoft) is having different uppers, that's the bit that really changes the style/handling of the gun; never seen this question I must admit. Either get the gun in with a tech who actually knows what they're doing, which will fix the issue if you can't shoot more than .25, or look at a whole other gun. I'd bet that in most instances a lower receiver + complete GB, stock, grip and motor etc will cost what another gun costs and that'll just be for average parts, nothing special.

I get the different uppers thing, and I probably wouldn’t mind doing it as there are some other styles I just don’t know if the standard gearbox that the pew had originally is good enough to compete with what I want. I’d love to match what my friends use (.28) so we can all just bulk buy the same bbs. I’ve recently put an upgraded motor in it and am looking at changing the hop, barrel and maybe spring. Like I said I’m not sure if I want the gearbox but like the look. Potentially if there is already a good or upgraded full rif that I can get that my upper would be compatible with I’d be happy with that

I'm struggling to really understand so I'll try and boil it down. Assuming your RIF is putting out decent muzzle energy around 1J or just over, then if it can't lift .28 then the issue is your hop parts; the unit, bucking or nub. Change them after doing significant relevant research on what to buy, or take it to someone who definitely know what they're doing.
