Danglers help a good bit tbh. Also, go with a soft armor carrier to fit form better. Though after a point youre always gonna end up at the "bulletproof bib" if youre just too big.

For instance. At the end of an 8-hour game at a MilSim recently, I was tired and forgot to suck in my gut for this pic. Not my best look haha:

On the flip side, heres the same thing a week or so earlier - but with a dangler pouch this time. Much better at hiding my curves lol - and Im even wearing the bulletproof bib in this one - a Crye JPC instead of the larger IDZ vest I have on in the first pic:

For me it's not so much as "while I'm carrying some extra weight". For me it's once I lose that weight I think it's still going to look comically small as I'm naturally very broad. It's not wide or long enough, though I think I will look into a dangler pouch to get rid of the length problem. Thanks for the suggestion there @SeniorSpaz87!

as a "jolly" gentleman i'm inclined to agree.

i've never felt plate carriers to be comfortable nor stylish when they're being used to add frontal mass to a frame already stricken with excess frontal mass.

a belt rig is a significantly more comfortable and practical arrangement, especially given there's no requirement to wear the carrier for its intended purpose (ie preventing a fatal dose of lead poisoning)

Have you thought of going ‘old school’ with plate carriers ,

something like a CIRAS , MBSS or a Blackhawk STRIKE ? There all a bit longer than the current trend of plate carriers and you can make them that much longer as they all have a lot of adjustment in the shoulder straps .

just my two Pennie’s worth .?

after the first lockdown my osprey PC was a bit "snug" so I changed to a belt and harness combo and much prefer it

easier to move about, less restrictive, no unnecessary gear and personally I think it looks better

@strykerlesYeah, I'm typically a belt kit user as a sniper, but for my CQB loadout I'm going plate carrier, helmet, lower face, everything! Partially so when I inevitably get lit up nice and close, it'll only hurt in certain areas (I can deal with arm and leg pain :P )

Partially because I like playing dress up and want to try something different.

As a fat fuck I concur.

The other problem is that most (if not all) repro plate carriers are sized for the Asian market so they're all made in small/medium sizes. The licenced Crye stuff by Z-Shot comes in Crye sizes including large so that's always an option.
