Never really rated the prommy purple that highly, better than a lot of stock rubbers but i'd generally go for the pdi w-hop (sounds like what g&g are going for with the split blue?).
However they're only good for up to the ~.3g range, have to be ml for the proper heavies.
I might have messed up the hardness, 50s appear to deform a lot when hop is applied, causing the energy to drop by 0.2J with consequently decreased range.
Will have a go with the new silicone 60s I got and see what happens..
@Skara makes sense, i'd normally run 50's but then i'm not dealing with an italian summer
@Steveocee yeah, i'm running a 1j limit so the W-hop can't go much further than .3g but i can see it being more effective with a bit more energy behind it.
I firmly believe ML's rating chart is naff, or that they should make a dual hardness rubber.
70/75 on the feed lips, 50 on the patch. That would be super awesome as you still maintain rigidity on the lips but at the same time have a rather soft patch that doesn't require much pressure.
I'm also gonna buy a CU hop chamber for the ak because I just broke the fifth C clip -.-
double shotting a hop rubber could be interesting, although i dont know how well it'd hold together. kinda like how they've done the c-clip for their vsr style rubbers.
it is the main advantage of the r-hop is having a softer patch compound but not entirely convinced it's all that relevant unless running higher energies (although at higher energies you need less spin too)
the CU chamber is very good, you won't be losing you barrel with one of those
ahh, that might be tricky then, the CU unit has a grub screw under the barrel to hold the c-clip in place and you kinda need to assemble it outside the gun for that.
it does take the e&l magwell spacer although it is a bit of a squeeze.
