Also, unrelated stupid question: would a SHS QD spring guide fit into Specna gearboxes? if so, I'm ordering two of those as well.

people actually want hicaps? you learn something new every day......

not sure on the qd side of things, any time i deal with qd always keep it matched to the box.

Also, how wrong would 5.56 AK mags look on a krink?

always preferr bearings on the spring guides rather than the piston, saves weight without needing to do any swiss cheesing.

from what i've seen of the 5.56 krinks the americans use they're quite subtle:

Cuz I just found some Cyma flash mags that look exactly like the mag you posted, but clear instead of black. at €10 a piece, can't really say no  I only need 3 though.

There is also a 5.45 version (I have one of these already) but it is not the most solid magazine out there, it's quite flimsy actually..
