Mmm, the other thing is that with car sharing discouraged, it'll be absolutely rammed.

I'm going to make a weather dependent decision, I reckon.

I think that because of the limited numbers now there it'll still be about a similar amount of cars showing up and they did mention that they've changed the parking area to avoid people being too close together, but I can't speak for it since I haven't been there in a year.

I reckon even if the weather is shite you should still go, you're gonna get coated in mud or swallowed by the irn bru goo during a dry day might as well get what you paid for unless you're not fully committed to getting hosed down in the garden after a gameday there ?

@Akuma121
the one thing I wont forget is that orange goo

A
Akuma121
@Excal1burUK haha I'm still cringing from the memory of falling into a sinkhole full of the stuff and having to throw my guns to a random guy just so they don't do down with me

@Akuma121dont forget some of the orange sludge has flesh eating bacteria in it ?

Reeeeeally selling the site there, guys. :P

@Excal1burUK Is that actually real? I swear I've heard that before but I always thought it was a joke

@Rogerborg Wait until you hear about the legions of midges that come out during the summer, practically works as active camo with the amount of em stuck to you ?

E
Excal1burUK
@Akuma121yeah there was a guy that went to hospital because of it

But apart from the car wrecking road, crappy parking, late starts, no chronoing, minimal build work, overshooting, more walking than playing, more waiting than walking, trip hazards, mud, midges, and the flesh eating bacteria, it's OK then?

@Rogerborg
no, I would recommend players of war instead xD

@Rogerborg haha when you say it like it does sound like a horrid site but it genuinely is a great experience for an outdoors site.

They did just post on the players group on facebook that they're cutting down on waiting times between rounds so you're expected to restock and attend the next game briefing immediately or else you'll be sitting that one out if you miss it. It's an outdoor site so you can't be upset with getting dirty or dealing with mud and insects when you knew what you were getting into.

There is a decent amount of walking involved as it's an outdoor site, unlike the depot where starting zones and respawns are 30-45 seconds away at most. In reality at max you're walking for 5 minutes and that's if they end up using the bridge area for one of the games, otherwise it's a 2-3 minutes walk to your start zone.

it's shite that they don't chrono your guns at the start of the day, there's not a proper excuse for it pre-covid but now I'd argue that organising players to chrono from the start  while keeping people safely apart would take too long and be too much of a risk. If you're suspected of using a hot gun or there's one in play then you'll be told to chrono on the way back to the safe zone.

Trip hazards are sadly gonna be expected when it comes to outdoors, literally the first time I played airsoft was renting at section 8 and I slipped off a small tiny wee ledge and ended up getting a nasty bruise on my shin for a month. All I can say is to wear good quality footwear and some knee pads if you've got any. The site did have a case of arson happen to it a year or so ago so quite a few wood barricades were burnt down to nothing but a lot of the bases are still coated with barricades and have the occasional knee-body sized trench around em.

Worst comes to it mate it ends up not being for you, might as well get your money's worth tomorrow and try to have some fun with it.

Apologies for the mini essay, just trying to clear some stuff up so you don't think you're going to a third world country inspired airsoft site tomorrow :)

I've just seen the howling lunacy rules.  Stay at your car at all times until summoned, temperature check (on a one way road, then what?), muzzles on until game on - outdoors!  Hahaha, no chance.  I'm knocking this on the head until sanity returns.

@Rogerborg
honestly them rules are a bit insane if its 60 players then that can be like 50 cars due to a couple families playing and you all have to stay on that narrow pothole filled road till summoned yet restock are to be quick into each game bit shite if your car is at the back xD

@Rogerborg What's wrong with having a face mask on until games are a go?

Rogerborg
Rogerborg
We're likely talking about a loosely draped shemagh or buff, with 2m distancing, outdoors, after a temperature check.

That's a religious ritual.  I'm a rational secularist.

They're not putting the blood of a virgin rental player on your forehead as a blessing to ward off the spooky covid virus from entering your nostrils it's a fuckin mask lmao.

E
Excal1burUK
@Akuma121how do we know you ain't some blood of a virgin rental player cult leader saying these things ?

A
Akuma121
@Excal1burUK That's sickening, I'd never waste the blood of a virgin rental player on the likes of you unholy swine...but virgin speedsofter blood? I'm dunking people in that stuff like it's the 2014 ice bucket challenge ?
