I bought my MK23 from someone who had done just that. They sold it with a 16mm/14mm converter and a stubby (about half the length of the original) suppressor on the front. It doesn't appear to be any louder than a full length, and is significantly easier to draw. Also doesn't weigh nearly as much as the Silverback. Worth considering if you're not buying based on looks.
