Gun picture thread

Been collecting parts for over 3 months for this one. Finally found the time to put it together yesterday, very pleased with the results. I wanted to build it into an outdoor accurate rifle (65/70m), snappy trigger, with around 20 RPS and a mean look to complement my much loved RPK16.

Started as a LCT AK12 with the Gate Aster upgrade and newer rotary type hop unit, it shot well enough but it was hot at the chrono, the hop was a bit meh, the trigger wasn't very snappy, it was a bit noisy and fired around 15 RPS.

I took some time researching the hop unit, it came with the newer rotary style hop up which is better than the old slider version but it has preset clicks and I found the spot I wanted was between the clicks, rats. Picked up a Bull Gear machined alloy hop unit, it's gorgeous engineering and shiny with anodised red bits. The hop dial is incredibly accurate with about 60 turns from min to max and it holds the setting perfectly. Added my go to Prommy purple rubber, nub, 433mm stainless barrel and a M110 spring. It's firing .32's flat, far and straight with hop almost off. Accuracy and power fixed!

One of my MP5's has a Gate Aster and the Warhead brushless motor and has the snappy trigger response I wanted for this build so picked up a 27k Warhead motor. Turned the active brake off on the mosfet and reduced the trigger pull, not quite hair trigger but somewhere close. Holly cow this makes a difference, RPS went up a bit to 18 and the trigger response is the telepathic, instant type I've been looking for. As a side note it sounds a lot better as well now. Snappy trigger and AEG whine fixed!

Next onto the mean look. I have been collecting the Zentico and LCT bolt on parts from Ebay, used airsoft and the classifieds here for 3+ months. Added the LCT magwell guides, suppressor and impossible to find QR to 20mm adaptor, Zentico bolt pull and fore grip. It's a bit long and heavy, typical LCT but I am very pleased with the results. Mean look fixed!

Just need to pull it apart again as I don't think I lined the selector up properly so it's a bit hit and miss between auto and semi. Also thinking I will change it to semi and 3 round burst and full auto seams a bit mean!

Had a few health issues this week, hence typing this rather than playing but can't wait to get it to site and put some BB's through it.

That looks class sounds like you've put a ton of good work into it

Been a while since I posted in here (and with good reason) Still waiting on delivery from CRW but I present to you my new Stainless steel PPK which is a limited production run of 50 and a collaboration between Mafisio making the CNC stainless steel kit and Papago arms providing a choice of marking.

Should recieve it in the next few weeks and will post some more pics when I do! :)

Holy Warrior repro Aimpoint M2 arrived from Aliexpress today and I think this might be my go-to 1.1J SBR now, overtaking the URG-I. Mostly because I see URG-Is everywhere, but how often do you see co-witnessed red dots?

Also it's VERY reminiscent of the first AEG I ever bought; an old D-boys m4 CQBR that I had build a lot like this, just with a worse suppressor, no red dot, no paracord as a sling mount, a cheaper sling, and the standard A2 style grip. Instead I now have it as an MWS with nicer bits on it, but the feel is so familiar and I love it. Bonus points if I run it alongside my old Bell 1911 for the ultimate nostalgia trip.

What pistol grip is that?

And why the paracord? Your front sling loop looks lonely.

Pistol grip is a Hogue pistol grip and it fills that awful gap between the trigger guard and the pistol grip: https://www.brownells.co.uk/AR-15-P...p-Rubber-Black-HOGUE-Polymer-Rubber-408150000

And the paracord is there so that the rifle hangs better when on a sling. If you use the regular sling loop, especially on an m16 where both of them are down low, the rifle hangs naturally upside down. It's a mod I saw one of the ex-military guntubers talking about and thought "that's a really good idea actually..." as this way the rifle hangs nicer on the sling and is easier to use.

Two of my recent favourites:

Shorty M4.

Started off as an NGRS URG-I. Outer barrel cut down, gas block moved back. Geissele MK8 front handguard, trigger guard and bolt catch. BCM grip, Vector optics 2-7 scope and red dot mounted on cheap modified mount. Vector Viade light/laser unit, Noveske Pig Pen flash hider, clone Magpul vertical grip and sling loop.

Has internal gubbins too. Shoots about 1j with surprising accuracy and consistency.

M26½ IAR (Idiot's Automatic Rifle)

Started off as a Marui NGRS 416 DEVGRU, not so much changed like the other one. 120mm barrel extension (inner barrel also longer to suit.) with flash hider/muzzle brake of some kind. Ambi selector deleted and blanked off. Vector Rokstad bipod on modified Vector QD picatinny mount, KAC-style vertical foregrip with end removed, KAC-style rail covers, front sling loop. (Yes, i know the gas block has them too..) Surefire light and CQB-L with remote switches. Vector 3-9 Cerato scope on modified Unity clone mount with Vector enclosed red dot on top.

Also has internal gubbins.. blah blah blah.. who cares..

DCA came through with the flash hider for my L119A1 clone-ish build, it's a long way from being correct but it's close enough for me...

DCA also fecked up my order 'slightly', sent me a green vertical grip instead of the black one I ordered, not worth calling them about it, I'll just stick it in my spares box for any green rif's I get in the future.

The M27 is such a cool looking rifle but i would absolutely hate to carry it around all day

Last game day i took my M26½ out. It was great, but bulky and heavy. Second half of day i used my Shorty M4 which felt like a feather by comparasin.

Still won't stop me using it frequently though. That kind of setup works so well.
